OWNER, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF: Kristi King-Morgan, LCSW, MFA Education: Associates Degree from Jones County Junior College Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from USM Master's Degree in Social Work from USM MFA Creative Writing from Lindenwood University Social Work/Mental Health: Kristi has a passion for front line mental health work and crisis intervention. Before receiving any formal training, she was volunteering her time in crisis centers and shelters, and since receiving her formal training, she has had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including elementary schools, integrated primary care settings, hospital emergency rooms as a social worker, sexual assault crisis intervention centers, alcohol and drug inpatient detox, and intensive outpatient/partial hospitalization therapy. Kristi completed licensure level for LCSW and was planning to go into private practice as a therapist, but these plans were derailed by a cancer diagnosis. WRITING CAREER AND INTERESTS: Reading and writing have always been a passion. Her years spent as a medical transcriptionist honed her writing skills, and her innate curiosity and love of research led her to pursue a writing career alongside her career as a social worker. Kristi writes fiction for fun (sci-fi and fantasy mainly) and publishes most of these stories under a pen name. She has been a freelance editor and ghostwriter for years, and served as Director of Corporate Operations for Pro Se Press, a pulp fiction publisher taking the pulp genre by storm. HEALTH: Kristi was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Mixed Connective Tissue Disease in 2015 after more than a year of dealing with symptoms. In 2017 she was hospitalized for an acute attack of diverticulitis and was also diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Disease at that time. Shortly after that, she received the devastating diagnosis of Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, a rare cancer. It was stage 4 when discovered. She underwent a radical surgery, then spent several months in Seattle Washington to receive neutron beam radiation (not available anywhere else in the US). She now has no evidence of cancer. The treatment worked! CONTACT: DreamingBigPublications@outlook.com |

Madison Drake I am a young, aspiring author with a passion for all things books. I enjoy most genres, but I gravitate to fantasy, horror, and historical fiction the most. My favorite authors include Stephen King, Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Sanderson, Donna Gillespie and countless others. When I'm not reading, I enjoy writing, taking nature photos, collecting books from the 19th to early 20th century, being on the lookout for my own cherry red, '58 Plymouth Fury, and raising poultry. |
