by Allison Grayhurst
In this month
slumbering onward,
I feel your kick
saying that 'yes' a change is
coming - one so strong it will
open many doors along side it.
I press my hand against my
belly and wish for you a healthy world
of open spaces and unwavering affection.
I have no fear of the boy you will be.
I have darkness in me I cannot shake,
but that has no hold -
for it has always been love
that has carried me along.
