- MY REVIEW: 3 out of 5 stars. I’m neutral about this bed based on trying it out. At first, it seems like an awesome bed, something I would really like to have. High end. Much fancier than plain mattresses. The kind of thing I can’t afford. Indeed, the price is completely outside of my budget.
At first glance, this seems like a wonderful solution for couples who still want to sleep in the same bed but have completely different preferences concerning temperature. With just a touch of the button on a remote control device, you can make your side of the bed warmer or cooler based on your preferences. The mattress I tried even raises at the head and at the feet, sort of like how a hospital bed can do. So if someone snores and needs their head raised to help with that, no problem!
I read some reviews after trying the bed out for myself. I didn’t want to read them before I was able to experience it, because I didn’t want to be influenced by what others said. My impression at the store before even reading other reviews was that perhaps the bed would be too high maintenance for me. It requires a filter that would need to be changed. Since it’s not just a plain mattress, it needs care and maintenance for the heating and cooling system. I personally like to keep things simple and easy. Something else to have to care for and maintain stresses me out. I don’t want my bed to be a source of stress.
The motor also makes a sound, which didn’t really bother me too much in the store, but then again, sampling a bed in a store does not replicate what it is like to actually try to sleep on the bed in my own home. I read reviews from other people who say the sound of the bed bothers them. I would imagine that if I tried to sleep on this bed, it would bother me too. I’m a light sleeper and every little noise keeps me awake. I’ve even tried “white noise” machines to block out other noise so I could sleep better, and the sound from those bother me. The idea of buying a bed that makes a constant noise concerns me and would weigh heavily in my decision to purchase this bed or look at other options. Some other reviews have noted that the mattresses bunch and this is uncomfortable. I didn’t notice this in the store and it felt quite comfortable. I liked being able to slightly raise the head of the mattress. This was a plus to me because I suffer from GERD and laying flat makes it worse, so this is a positive when weighing my decision to purchase or not.
I reviewed this mattress as part of a product review service that I was asked to do, but was not obligated to give a positive review, and all opinions are my own. However, I was pleased to get this opportunity to try out this mattress because my husband and I have been talking about needing a new mattress for a while now, and this review opportunity made me finally get out and look at some like we had been talking about. I didn’t make a purchase at this time, but was glad for the opportunity to get more information on this mattress, and I will strongly consider purchasing this one when we are able to afford to make a purchase.
