MY REVIEW:   5 stars. I was pleasantly surprised by the stories and by the women chosen. This is a normal, regular bible, NKJV, with all scriptures like any ordinary bible. It is a bit like a devotional bible. What makes it different is that each book of the bible has stories of American women who the editor picked to give as an example for the topic.  Unlike other “women of the bible” books that only portray women mentioned in the bible, this one portrays real women from American history, no ancient biblical times. It reads as a sort of celebration of American history dedicated to the women who helped make this country what it is. Some of the women are well known names, such as Rosa Parks. Others I have never heard of, and was glad for this history lesson, for this chance to learn about these women. I was also glad to see something written for and about women that didn’t do the typical “women need to know their place” message still to this day often preached in church. Although there was a bit of that, I won’t lie, it didn’t come across as a woman-bashing tome designed to subjugate women, but rather a celebration of good, strong, wise women.

The book is a hardcover with an attractive patriotic picture on it. It is reasonably priced for a hardcover at $34.99.  I noticed the price was even lower on Amazon.
