He said he was
a nonentity, a nothing,
not so much with words
but with every gesture,
manner of speech,
the way his eyes told
his story
I would have given
him a name, but he
already had one, so I simply
reminded him of his own
title, the name offered
by someone who either
loved him or didn't
But it didn't matter now,
because he had the chance
to put something meaningful
behind that name.
