Meditation has many, many benefits to the mind and for you bookworms out there, it can help you become a better reader. Some people have found that meditating before reading helps them focus more deeply on the content they are reading. It can even help you focus for longer, meaning you can read more than you could without practicing meditation!
How does this work?Meditation is all about focusing on the present moment, and zeroing in on a single thing. When it comes to reading, if you meditate, you can more easily focus on the words on the page rather than things such as; what the other people in the house may be doing, or what you’re going to have for dinner tonight, or the current drama at work/school. This can really boost both your reading time and your enjoyment.

If you are new to meditation, you may find that you do not get it right away. Like with all new activities, it may take some practice to get it right! However, once it clicks, it can be very beneficial not only for reading, but in many other aspects of life!
