ABOUT THE BOOK
The second installation in A Series of Choices, Money or Mayhem continues the story of Val and Lana but tells their story through the eyes of their leading men, Travis and Leo. As a detective Travis is working to stop the drug dealings of a dangerous gang, while also starting his life with Val. Leo, now out of a job, is still trying to recover from the incident with Lana while fighting for joint custody of his kids. When Leo gets himself in hot water, will Travis make the effort to step in and save him?
3 out of 5 stars
Boy, was this book different than the first. While I’d probably classify the first as romance/erotica, the second was more like action/crazy drug cartel shoot-outs. It held my attention much more than I was expecting, and by the end I was truly excited to find out how it all ended. I also enjoyed the POV shift to Leo and Travis, because I found them to be much more likeable and reliable narrators than Lana and Val. My main complaint for this story, besides some slightly far-fetched occurrences, was that the motives of the characters were not always consistent or clear, which left holes in their characterization.
