MY REVIEW
3 out of 5 stars
The beginning of the book grabbed my attention as the characters and their personalities were introduced, however, as the story progressed, I began to feel like their decisions and actions came out of nowhere and didn’t quite make sense. As the book goes on, they seem to be doing the opposite of developing and learning from their mistakes. I still find myself not entirely trusting Lana, or Val, and especially not their love interests, but I am interested to see if the next book changes my mind about them.
The love scenes were well written and succeeded in keeping me interested in the characters’ relationships in between the rest of the scenes that did little to advance the plot. There wasn’t quite enough excitement for my taste, and the story seems to just be documenting the everyday events and minor conflicts of Lana and Val’s lives, which can be a bit repetitive at times. However, the end of the story was unresolved enough that I would probably read the next book in the series to see if the characters develop any more or if their situations improve.
