ABOUT THE BOOK:
Lana and Val are best friends trying to navigate work, love, and their mid-thirties. Val is slammed with the news that her ex-lover and baby daddy, Punkin, has been arrested for drug dealing, but quickly recovers under the allure of Travis, the sexy cop handling the case. While she begins a whirlwind romance with Travis, Lana begins her own with her attractive new boss, Leo, but sleeping with your boss may come with some unintended consequences… Romance and surprises are in store for all.
If you’re a fan of romance and erotica looking for a light summer read, then this book is for you. The sex scenes are more prevalent than Fifty Shades of Grey (well… maybe) and the plot serves to characterize Lana and Val as strong female protagonists who are successful both as business women and mothers and still hold their own in relationships. Their banter and friendship was very realistic and relatable for today’s young women; however, I felt the plot was often marred by clunky dialogue, awkward scene transitions, and imperfect writing, which is why I chose to only give it two stars.
