Closure or Ammo by Sharryn Dotson

About the Book
Val and Lana have been friends for a long time. They have had their ups and downs but nothing, not even a man can come in between their friendship. After Lana’s husband passes away she begins to drown her sorrows in wine and men. However, most of these men are nothing more then one night stands because they can not satisfy her. Then one day things start looking up for her when she meets a Tall, Slim and Sexy man who also just so happens to be her boss. Meanwhile Val has just found out that her baby daddy has just been arrested, again, but this time the charges will stick. When the police come a calling she does not expect to find out that he was in a gang much less that the she would start a hot and heavy relationship with the detective on the case. When Val finds out about Lana’s relationship she warns her off before she can get hurt, but Lana is too far head over heals. When Lana lands on her face after the bad break up Val and Lana’s friendship is truly tested when Lana begins stalking her boss to discover his dirty little secret. Will the girls make up or will this end in a cat fight?

My Review
Four Stars
Closure or Ammo is a fantastic erotic comedy. I loved the sexual comedy of the story which kept me laughing and aroused at the same time. This story starts off right off the bat getting down and dirty with the lives of these characters.

As the story escalated I was really enraptured in the lives of the characters that Dotson created. She brought her characters to life in my imagination and their voices were fantastically developed. Reading this story was almost like meeting up with the girls at a bar and listening to them gossiping about their sex lives over a couple of rum and cokes. I felt like I truly got to know the characters and could imagine the events portrayed truly happening.

The story arc itself kept me reading, expectantly awaiting the next juicy little tidbit. I loved how Dotson switches perspectives throughout the story, leaving my mind hanging wondering what is going to happen in her other character’s life. With this in mind the way she flows from one character’s perspective to the other is flawless. There were a few times when at first I wasn’t sure who was talking until further into the section, but for the most part Dotson leads her audience through the personal thoughts of her characters.

In my opinion the tell of a good book is if the author leaves the reader wanting more. By then end of Closure of Ammo I was disappointed that the story was over but anticipating what would come next in Dotsons’ other books. If you are looking for great adult comedy this book will certainly draw you in with the juicy details of these women’s lives.
