ABOUT THE BOOK
Who would've thought that going outside to jump on the trampoline would lead to an exciting high seas adventure? That's exactly what happened to Charlie and Lexie when they went out to play while their mom was cooking supper. Hokey Pokey Pirates is a story written by a child for children, using her own bond with her brothers to teach the importance of family bonding time in an imaginative and fun way.
MY REVIEW
Rating: 4/5
‘Hokey Pokey Pirates’ is an adorable children’s book that reminds readers to be carefree and have fun in life! The illustrations compliment the short story with vivid images and extra coloring pages at the end. The cute ideas brought me back to my childhood when I used to jump on my friend’s trampoline and do the hokey pokey in school. It brought a smile to my face to read such an innocent story!
One of the things I love about this book is that it is written by a kid for kids. The language is simple and resembles how children speak and think. It is quick and to the point, keeping the attention of younger children. It might even inspire other children to write about their lives, the games they have learned, and the memories they hold dear.
I would definitely recommend that parents read this book to their children. And not only read it, but tell them that they can write a story too!
