ANSWER:
I developed this book on the ancient yogic teachings of Yama and Niyama because they provide a down to earth system of practices that help people work with their psychological issues and personal struggles. They address practical lifestyle changes and the development of positive habit patterns that lead to a more functional, healthy and compassionate life. Thus the title: Living Love. They open a person to the possibilities of a deep spiritual connection.

They are two limbs of the ancient eight-fold path of Astanga Yoga described in the seminal text The Yoga Sutras in 200 AD. They are the teachings that specifically address how we live in the world and our relationship to self and others on the spiritual path.

ANSWER:
When you live love in your life, you live with the intention of doing no harm, of bringing kindness and compassion into the world, of learning to be at peace and in harmony with all life. But to do this requires understanding the foundational tenants and habits of mind necessary to develop these qualities. This book assists you in gaining the insight and practical approaches necessary to be a truly loving person.

About the Author
Maetreyii Ma, Megan Nolan Ph.D. has been doing yogic meditation and bringing through a loving Divine presence and spiritual knowledge from source for many years and compiling the teachings in books. In addition to being an author, Maetreyii Ma is a licensed psychologist with a doctorate in Transpersonal Psychology, a teacher of yogic philosophy and ancient wisdom, an ERYT 500 Yoga Teacher, and an ordained Yogic minister, or Acharya.
Dr. Nolan is currently the president of Ananda Guru Kula, a non-profit organization dedicated to spreading the wisdom teachings of Yoga and a psychologist in private practice. She currently spends her time in private practice as a psychologist, giving ‘Baba Talks’, teaching and making books of these beautiful discourses. She resides with her family in their ashram community in the Northern San Francisco Bay area where she serves as the spiritual director.
