Eyelash kisses blinked at my pulse
Like the staccato flutter of newborn
Bird wings.
Swathed inside my womb with two cupped hands,
We whispered secrets in one another’s
Dreams, and posted love notes attached
To Heart Winks.
Frogs and pollywogs chased puppy
Dog tails into cream soda sugarscapes,
Sweetened with candy-sprinkled
Snowmen pressed from cookie dough.
We dipped snowflakes in butter pour
And hung them on fir trees. You clutched
My hem and healed me.
